If you are interested, there are two ways to connect with these students.ġ. Here is an opportunity for us to reach out and show them who Christ is to us and to them. There are over 1500 J1 students come in every summer to Virginia Beach and majority (probably most) of them are not Christian and some of them have never heard about the Gospel. Even though I did not come to salvation until later but I believe God was using my time as J1 to plant a seed in my heart. But, by the grace of God, someone told me the Gospel for the very first time during my first summer in the US. Growing up in Taiwan, heard about Jesus but didn’t really know who he was. It allows College students to come to the US in the summer for work and travel so that they can learn English and be exposed to American Culture. We have decided to partner with Virginia Beach Community Chapel to reach out more J1 students from all over the world. As many of you know, we have had a privilege to reach out and build relationships with some of the Chinese J1 students in the past 2 summers. Don’t forget this, we also have a lot of workers coming to town. Summer is almost here! That means living in one of the most popular tourism destinations in east coast, we’ll have a lot of tourists coming into our little city. ![]()
